Honey-Kissed Figs with Prosciutto and Whipped Feta

Sweet, savory, creamy, and just a little crisp, these prosciutto-wrapped figs are an effortless appetizer that feels special enough for any gathering. The warm figs pair beautifully with salty prosciutto, tangy whipped feta, and a drizzle of honey—and they come together in just minutes.

Key Ingredients

Figs: Brown Turkey figs have a mild sweetness, while Black Mission figs are richer and sweeter. I prefer Black Mission figs for this recipe. Choose fresh, ripe fruit that feels soft when gently squeezed.

Prosciutto: This delicate, dry-cured Italian ham has a savory, subtly sweet, and salty flavor that pairs beautifully with figs.

Fresh thyme leaves: Their earthy, savory flavor balances the sweetness of the honey.

Freshly ground black pepper: A light sprinkle adds a gentle hit of spice.

Cream cheese and feta: Whipped together, they create a smooth, creamy topping with a pleasant tang and saltiness from the feta.

Honey: A drizzle adds natural sweetness and brings all the flavors together in this bite-size hors d’oeuvre.

Honey-Kissed Figs with Prosciutto and Whipped Feta

Prep time: 15 minutes

Bake time: About 5 minutes at 350°F

Yield: 16 pieces (about 4 servings)

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh figs

  • 8 slices prosciutto

  • ½ cup softened cream cheese

  • ½ cup feta cheese

  • 1 tablespoon honey, plus more for drizzling

  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh thyme leaves, for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Set out a small sheet pan.

  2. Trim the stem from each fig, then cut each fig into quarters.

  3. Cut each slice of prosciutto in half lengthwise. Wrap each fig quarter with a half-slice of prosciutto and arrange the pieces on the sheet pan.

  4. Bake for about 5 minutes, watching closely, until the figs are softened and warmed through and the prosciutto is crisp.

  5. Transfer the wrapped figs to a serving platter and let them cool slightly.

  6. Using a mixer or food processor, whip the cream cheese, feta, and 1 tablespoon honey until smooth and creamy. Transfer the mixture to a pastry bag or a resealable bag with one corner snipped off.

  7. Pipe the whipped cheese mixture onto the prosciutto-wrapped figs. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves, a drizzle of honey, and a small pinch of black pepper.

  8. Serve warm or at room temperature. No additional salt is needed because the prosciutto and feta are already salty.

Serving Suggestions

  • Arrange the figs on a platter with toasted baguette slices or crisp crackers.

·        Serve them as part of a seasonal charcuterie board with nuts, olives, fresh grapes, and a bold cheese such as Gorgonzola.

·        Pair them with a crisp sparkling wine, dry rosé, or sparkling apple cider.

·        For an elegant presentation, garnish the platter with extra thyme sprigs and add the final drizzle of honey just before serving.
